Our son had the privilege of working with Ms. Elizabeth for 2 years, in Kindergarten and first grade. He was dealing with selective mutism where he would not speak to anybody outside of the home environment. He would meet with Ms. Elizabeth weekly to practice being comfortable with a different person in a different setting during the school day. This would include tasks and play where his level of difficulty would increase gradually, to the point of making sounds and mouth noises and ultimately speech sounds. Over time, he was able to laugh out loud and be more vocal in class, even whispering to his teachers and a few classmates. When we moved to a different city, Ms. Elizabeth even continued working with our son over Zoom, using different voice meters and animations to encourage his speaking. They would also write letters back and forth to maintain their relationship even when we were far away. Ms. Elizabeth's warm demeanor, incredible patience, and commitment to our son's growth were instrumental in him being able to grow past his selective mutism to fully verbal now in all scenarios. We cannot thank you enough for your loving care and work with our son, and recommend your services with the utmost regard. Thank you!!

My child's experience with Elizabeth was great and he met his goals in a timely manner. While working with Elizabeth my son grew more confidence in his communication skills. Elizabeth's approach was gentle, which my son responds best. During my meetings with Elizabeth I felt that she really cared about my son's progress and she was always available for any extra help when needed. Elizabeth is a Speech Therapist that is very dedicated to her students and is always willing to collaborate with the parent for the best outcome possible.

Our son had an articulation issue in elementary school. Elizabeth is such an effective SLP she was able to address his articulation issue entirely through intervention. He no longer had any difficulty pronouncing -- every sound and word and was fully intelligible. In my 25 years as an Ed Spec, this was mind blowing for me. Elizabeth is a total gem and we are so grateful our son was able to work with her and has never needed any speech services or intervention since. Even though he also has a specific learning disability, she was able to fully correct his articulation.

Ms. Bascom was my son’s speech therapist for 2 years at his elementary school. His speech greatly improved when he was there. They worked specifically hard on pronunciation of words and articulation. My son is speaking really well and I have noticed he speaks quite maturely for a 6 year old. He is still working on enunciation of some sounds but he has a great foundation to build on.
